“You cannot claim to have seen something until you have photographed it.” - Emile Zola
Take a photograph in order to understand, to see more clearly and in a different way.
The creation of a photograph gives a chance to have a “second glance”, to analyze an object, a situation and
to reveal details that might have been missed in the first place.
This consideration goes far beyond the functionality of the object and its place in the collective imaginary.
Through photography, in the manner of Ready-made, it is diverted from its initial function to
put forward its only plastic qualities and make it an object of contemplation.
Made unusable in its original function to become only a composition of shapes and colors ready
to tend towards abstraction, the object is removed from any context that might give a clue to its true scale.
Indeed the subject is not a motorcycle but a miniature representation of it.
Only the “second glance” counts, as if a single observation could not be enough to apprehend the object as a whole.
